AAR Candidates

The Aurora Association of Realtors® is led by a board of directors.  These directors are responsible for charting the course for the association, determining membership needs and how the organization should be structured to meet those needs in the coming years.  They also make important decisions at the state and national level that directly impact the business climate for all REALTORS® and licensees.

They volunteer their time and expertise to help the Aurora Association of Realtors® continue to grow and serve its members better.

This year, three seats on the AAR board of directors are open.  We are fortunate to have seven incredibly qualified candidates running for those three seats.  As a result, each member’s vote is incredibly important.  In the coming weeks, each member will receive an email with a username and password as well as a link to a voting web site.  Once there, you will have the opportunity to vote for three of the following candidates.  You must select three candidates on your ballot, your your vote will not be valid.

Remember, these are the people leading your association and your vote matters.  Please take the time to read about each candidate and vote for those you feel will best represent you here at AAR.

Jeff Alexander

Jeff Alexander

Managing Broker, Alexander Pro Realty LLC

Licensed agent in Colorado for 22 years.
Member of AAR for 22 years.

Highest level of formal education: Some college.

Positions held or committees served on: At AAR, a member of the Finance Committee. In the community, a member of Daniel Chappie James Jr., Military lodge #27, in Aurora, serving as worshipful master in 2011; a current member of True Light Baptist Church in Denver, serving as an usher; a volunteer for the Denver Boys and Girls Club; football coach for the Centaurs of the Aurora Youth League and the Montebello Falcons Football Club; volunteer at the Aurora Buckeye Easy Does It Group every Tuesday, serving refreshments to the group and make sure the facility is kept in neat and tidy manner.

Leadership/activities at his real estate firm: “As owner/broker of Alexander Pro Realty LLC, I provide vision, leadership and stability. Leaders must be able to see into the future and have a clear idea of where their business is going and how best to get there. A leader’s vision separates him or her from management because it positions the leader as captain of the company boat, both steering the ship and determining the best destination for the company. Getting all employees to work well and harmoniously with one another is an essential part of business success. As the saying goes, you’re only as strong as your weakest link.”

Qualifications for seeking office of director: “Prior to entering the real estate field I had the unique opportunity to be a member of the Denver Broncos from 1988 until 1990 and again in 1992. I was also a member of the world champion London Monarch of the World League of American Football for two years. During this time I worked in London with many different people from all over the world, which gave me great insight into other cultures and beliefs of those who may be different. This gave me the ability to learn patience, tolerance, good listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively. The experience of working together to accomplish a common goal and of becoming better is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I believe this will make me a valuable member of the Aurora Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors.”

Goals and objectives as a director: “My goal would be to enhance the networking opportunities and professional development of our REALTOR® community. The more educational opportunities and the better connected we are as REALTORS® the better we can serve each other and our respective communities. Understanding what the members want from the board and providing those to the members can only enhance the membership as well as the enthusiasm the members will have for the board.”

Qualifications for seeking office of director: “I have prior experience as a restaurant general manager. In that role, I developed store managers, shift leads, cooks, administration, and human resource employees. I applied specific knowledge I gained during my MBA education to create dynamic work environments and a culture of high moral regard and accountability. As a head coach for men’s softball, I have used my leadership attributes to find and develop strong skill sets in my players. I have built camaraderie and dedication resulting in championship teams and maximizing player retention.”

Goals and objectives as a director: “As a director, I would strive to bring positive awareness about the real estate industry and the City of Aurora and its REALTOR® Association. I would like to see more community days where we could count on AAR members to contribute to meaningful community projects, not just monetarily, but donations of time and energy. I would also push for the development of a local expert certification program exclusive to AAR and its members. This certification would provide professional growth of our REALTORS® and boost pride of membership in AAR. An additional goal as director would be to start pushing our recruitment of new associates farther east. I believe eastern Aurora and the I-70 corridor have untapped potential for future AAR members. I believe a targeted market campaign will help to bolster membership numbers and provide stability to the Association. As a director, I will listen to the needs of the members and represent their ideas, goals, and concerns to the board both logically and reliably.”
